Mosquito Anti-Loitering Alarm
Everyone has the right to feel safe and secure in their own community and the right to peace and quiet within their own homes, but thanks to the intimidating nature of loitering and vandalism, this is unfortunately not always the case.
This is where the patented Mosquito MK4 anti-loitering device comes in. Mosquito can make a huge difference to homeowners and businesses plagued by groups of loitering kids and teens etc.
Whether it’s gangs of teenagers causing trouble outside your home, drinking or smoking and being rowdy, or groups of vandals defacing your shop at night, the Mosquito is the ideal audio repellent to deter malicious individuals from taking away your peace of mind.
When is this kit the best choice
- When it is only likely to be used occasionally
- When there are people on site to trigger the Mosquito
- When the Mosquito is plugged in to an easily accessible power socket / outlet
- When the Mosquito can be mounted above 4 meters above ground level
Who typically uses this kit
The Mosquito on its own is generally used by private homeowners who can mount it in a location not accessible to the public i.e below the eaves of a house within its own garden.
Features – The Mosquito Sound
The Mosquito is non-confrontational, non-harmful, and perfectly legal. The sound it emits won’t penetrate walls, windows (closed), fences, dense hedges etc.but it will be annoying enough to prevent people from gathering around your property, so you don’t have to worry about sacrificing your own comfort. It won’t affect people who just happen to be passing by either, so you won’t be upsetting the peace but rather regaining it.
The high-frequency buzzing sound emitted by the Mosquito will only be noticeable to those under the age of around 25, but those who can hear it won’t experience any pain, just the annoyance of the buzzing after a brief period of time. It doesn’t affect pets or wildlife, and the decibels are not strong enough to do any damage.
The high-frequency device is favoured by countless individuals, businesses and law enforcement organisations the world over, with plenty of people turning to its abilities to solve their loitering problems as quickly and as harmlessly as possible.
Power requirements
The Mosquito is supplied with its own power cable. This power cable has a set of different plugs supplied with it. These plugs ‘clip’ in to the end of the power cable enabling users to use the Mosquito in any country. Simply select the plug that is correct for your country and snap it on to the end of the power cable.
The Mosquito power cable also has a built-in transformer that converts either 240v AC or 110v AC to the 24v DC that it requires (similar to a mobile phone charger). This means it will work on any power system worldwide.
The power cable supplied is maximum of 1.5 meters long, if more length is required, the cable can be extend with simple 2-core cable which can be found in most hardware stores. The cable can be extended to a maximum of 50 meters if needed. Ensure that if the connection is outside, that a waterproof connecting block is used.
Mounting and Aiming
The mosquito is incredibly sturdy, manufactured from a cast Zinc alloy, however, it is worth installing it somewhere out of reach, if possible, as this can prevent people from attempting to pull it down. We recommend a height of at least four meters. Mounting at this height or above will also help the sound travel over objects while remaining out of reach.
When the Mosquito alarm emits sound, it travels in a cone shape that gets wider as it goes on, spreading at an angle of 60 degrees, so it’s worth bearing this in mind when you’re selecting the ideal spot to install it.
It is important to remember when installing the Mosquito that the sound will NOT pass through solid surfaces such as walls, fences, dense hedges, canopies etc.
Triggering
Various triggering options are available for the Mosquito, however, it is not essential to purchase a triggering device. The Mosquito is designed to be plugged in to a standard outlet / wall socket, so to activate and deactivate the device one simply needs to plug in or unplug the unit (In the UK simply flick the switch on the socket to turn the Mosquito on / off)
